Fall Herbs

Herbs are an excellent accent to fall and winter plantings. Our perennial herbs are a great match with pansies because they love the sun, require little maintenance, and add texture to containers or gardens.

Basil Sweet

Dill Fernleaf

Annual. Small plant produces very flavorful leaves and seeds. Seeds are used as a pickling spice and leaves are used in omelettes, fish dishes, and salads. Also used as a garnishes. Leaves can be dried for later use. Small plant suitable for containers. Plant Height: 18" tall.

Dill Bouquet

Annual. Plant produces very flavorful leaves and seeds. Seeds are used as a pickling spice and leaves are used in omelettes, fish dishes, and salads. Also used as a garnishes. Leaves can be dried for later use. Plant Height: 30" tall.

Chives

Perennial. Plant produces mild onion flavor cuttings. Used in salads, stuffed eggs, soups, omelettes, cream cheese, and sauces. Cuttings can be made all season long. Suitable for containers. Plant Height: 12".

Fennel Sweet

Biennial. Plant that produces very flavorful leaves. Used in salads, or cooked with oily fish, salads, vegetables, soups, and stews. Fennel tea is given to infants for its calming and anti-flatulent effects. Non-bulb variety. Pick leaves in summer when needed. Plant Height: 24" tall.

Fennel Bronze

Biennial. Plant produces very flavorful bronze-red and dark green feathery leaves. Excellent to spruce up salads and great fresh herb for cooking. Slow bolting and non-bulbing variety. Plant Height: 36" tall.

Eucalyptus

Lavender Provence

Long, slender flower wand that is useful for dried bud collecting. The buds come cleanly and easily away from the stalk.

Parsley Italian

Biennial. Plant produces rich flavor dark green leaves. Excellent drying variety that has strong parsley taste and crisp stems. The most popular variety for use as a seasoning. Repels asparagus beetles. Plant Height: 18" tall.

Parsley Curly

Biennial. Semi-compact plant produces flavorable curled dark green leaves. This is one of the finest varieties on the market. Excellent in salads, sauces, soups, and stews. Can be dryed or used fresh. It shows good cold tolerance in late fall and over wintered plantings.

Mint Spearmint

The various kinds of mint are so similar in plant and culture that they can be discussed together. They differ in the flavor of the oil. All are perenial herbs, with near square stems and opposite, simple leaves. Leaves are 2 to 3 inches in length, entire and near glabrous in the more important peppermint and spearmint.

Mint Peppermint

Hybrid mint, a cross between the watermint and spearmint. The plant, indigenous to Europe, is now widespread in cultivation throughout all regions of the world. It is found wild occasionally with its parent species.

Thyme Silver

This plant is an elegant addition to an herb or ornamental garden. It has lemon-scented green leaves edged in silver and produces lilac flowers in early summer.

Thyme Lemon

Lemon Thyme looks like English Thyme and grows like English Thyme but that is where the similarity stops. Lemon Thyme definitely smells like lemon and tastes like lemon.

Thyme English

Perennial. Plant produces flavorful leaves. Used in salads, stews, sauces, and pickles. Excellent for poultry and fish dishes. Plant Height: 12".
